Privacy policy
Last updated November 1, 2026.
The short version
This site has no forms, accounts or comments, and I don't sell your data. I use analytics to see which pages people read, and I may add tools that measure how people use the site or how my LinkedIn ads perform. Some of those tools use cookies. Everything is listed below, and you can ask me about your data any time.
Who runs this site
Ken Marshall Consulting LLC, Portland, Oregon. Questions about this policy or your data go to ken@kenmarshall.io.
What's collected automatically
Hosting and security. The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical details of each visit (your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that sent you and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Analytics and measurement. I use, or may use, these tools to understand which pages are useful and how people find the site:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. Counts page views and visits. Cloudflare says it doesn't use cookies or fingerprint visitors.
- Google Analytics. Measures visits, pages viewed, time on site, rough location (city or country), device and browser, and how you arrived. It uses cookies.
- Microsoft Clarity. Records how visitors scroll and click, including session replays and heatmaps, so I can fix confusing pages. It uses cookies. It's set up to mask text you type.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag. Tells me how my LinkedIn ads and posts perform and can let me show ads on LinkedIn to people who visited this site. It uses cookies, and LinkedIn may connect your visit to your LinkedIn account under its own privacy policy.
- Google Search Console. Shows me which Google searches lead to this site. It uses Google's search data and doesn't add anything to this site that tracks you.
What you send me
Email. Mail to ken@kenmarshall.io runs through Google Workspace. I keep it while it's useful for our conversation or my business records, and I'll delete it if you ask.
Booking a call. The "Talk to Ken" buttons lead to my contact page, and its booking link goes to Cal.com. What you enter there (your name, email, the time you pick and anything you tell me) is handled by Cal.com under its own privacy policy and shared with me so I can show up prepared.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. If this site uses Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity or the LinkedIn Insight Tag, those tools set cookies to recognize repeat visits and measure activity. Where the law requires it, including for visitors in the EU and UK, I'll ask for your consent before they load. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work.
Who sees your data
Only the service providers that run the tools above: Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn and Cal.com, each under its own privacy policy. I don't sell or rent personal data, and I don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers handle these signals differently, and there's no single standard for how sites respond to Do Not Track. If you'd like your data left out of any of the tools above, email me and I'll do what I can, and you can block them with browser settings or extensions.
Links to other sites
This site links to LinkedIn, Cal.com, Udemy, Amazon, Substack and my other projects. Once you click away, that site's own privacy policy applies.
For visitors in the EU and UK
Hosting, security and basic analytics rely on legitimate interests: running a site that works, stays safe and tells me which pages are useful. Tools that use cookies rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Replying to your email relies on you asking me to. The providers above are US companies, so your data may be processed in the United States under their own transfer safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data I hold about you, and ask me to correct it, delete it, stop using it or send you a copy. Email ken@kenmarshall.io and I'll answer within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority. If you live in a US state with its own privacy law, you have the rights that law gives you, and the same email works.
How long data is kept
Analytics data is kept for the period each tool allows, and I'll use the shortest practical setting. Emails are kept while they're useful and deleted on request. Each provider keeps its own records under its own policy.
Kids
This site is for business owners and professionals. It isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
When I add or change a tool, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
